I went to see the Oliver Stone movie World Trade Center. My god it was horrible.

Why a family drama (ten minutes of action, 80 minutes of sobbing family) ? It very familiar to the fiasco of War Of The Worlds (with Tom Cruise) and therefore really annoying. There is nothing that stands out. Actors, story, music, it's all pathetic quality. Who is this Oliver Stone guy? Is he a sitcom director?

I had to endure through this movie, I really did.

"cough couch, are you alive?"
"yeah"
"are you alive too?"
"cough cough, tell, my ...wife..I ..Love her..cough cough"

Considering the massive amount of material the attacks of september 11th could provide, it's a shame they failed to come up with something that would give a lasting impression of the whole event. It's not worth the endcredits.

it better not be one of those movies where it gets great reviews from the 'critics' because of its topic.

Wow, as if we needed a lasting impression of 9-11 from a movie. It was a story about individuals dealing with a horrible situation. I think at Oliver Stone (a name recognizable to anyone who is even slightly familiar with American movies) did an admirable job of not inflaming passions so soon after the events.

Not the best movie of the year, but certainly not "horrible."

Oliver Stone is popular not because of his power or ability of filmmaking, but rather his content, and his conspiracy theories. JFK was huge because it suggested that there was a grand conspiracy behind the JFK assassination.

I haven't seen WTC, and I don't really care to.

Considering the characters in WTC are based on real people and the events recounted were real, plus, the huge potential to exploit such a tragedy, I think Oliver Stone did an admirable job. This is what really happened, PB2K, as told by the surviving participants (people that have been forgotten in the shadow of the bigger picture).

Why people want more action or whatever in a story of survival is beyond me. Perhaps most people look at film as simply entertainment and not as a means to recount a story that most have never heard of heroes that never existed in their minds. Anything more than was presented in this film would have been sensationalism.

"...it's a shame they failed to come up with something that would give a lasting impression of the whole event." <--- the news did this.

I never have liked Oliver Stone as a director, but his handling of this film made me appreciate his understanding of the subject matter and respect for the innocent people who died in this senseless event.
