Interesting... but if such a large object collided with the earth, no man made structure would survive...

I agree... I'm guessing that material would have blown out the other side... but I'm not an astronomer.

All other considerations aside, that is one of the most beautifully done videos I've ever seen. The destruction of the Amazon (アマソン) was amazing, as was the shot of London burning (again!). The mountain scene (ヒマラヤ) was the Himalayas, for those that don't read Japanese.

I don't suppose anyone happens to know what song that was?

I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. I guess I thought something interesting would happen…

The virtual destruction of Earth isn't interesting to you?

Well, THAT version of it…no. Not really.

Ok, I'm now obsessed with figuring out what that song is. It's not Japanese, though, I'm pretty sure it's Russian (at least it sure sounds like he said something about милая мама, sadly I can't really pick out much more than that and a few other isolated words and phrases).

Anyone have any clues?

Got it.

It's called Братья (brother), and was also in the Fullmetal Alchemist soundtrack (I thought it sounded familiar).

That video was crap. An extended version of the otherwise totally forgettable movie Armageddon.

The moon is relatively large compared to the Earth, 1/4th of the Earth's diameter.

So yeah, an object of that size would wipe out the surface of the side of the Earth it hit. The rest is pure speculation.

Why not a movie of an object 2x larger than the Earth??!

What? No dual next generation space shuttles sent up with a ragtag crew of oil drillmen to drop a 50 megaton nuke to blow that sucker it in two? I'm disappointed.

I bet it's leaked footage of the Empire's new weapon to combat the Rebellion Alliance. Notice the Death Star observing in the background?
