Sorry if this was covered already, but I noticed today that CBS has given the greenlight to a sitcom pilot called (tentatively?) 'Genius Bar.' According to the report:

"... the project explores the interactions between people who work at a place similar to the Genius Bar at the Apple stores and the cool, hip and beautiful employees at a nearby Abercrombie & Fitch-type store."

I think some of the people behind 'That 70s Show' are working on this, so if it has good characters and good writing, it could be good. On the otherhand, if it relies on the stereotypical 'nerd' jokes and tech-support stories it will probably suck.

I can't believe Apple would let them use the name "Genius Bar," although I like the fact that the Apple-store employees are not going to be portrayed as the "cool, hip, and beautiful" ones. Also...wonder why Disney-owned ABC didn't pick this up?

Great, a show where every episode is about a broken iPod.

You know this sounds like something that should have been sold to TechTV or G4TV. Maybe even Spike.

Pfft. The only thing left on my TiVo from G4 is X-Play, and even that's a shell of its former self. I took "Attack of the Show" out last week since I hadn't actually watched it since January.

I don't think anything's good enough for that channel anymore.

Star Trek is the only decent thing on the channel. And x-Play when they review a game I'm interested in (about 10% of the episodes)

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

I'll order season 1 on Netflix now. Much better than waiting a week between episodes.

As much as I like Apple and their products (and their stores) I must go on the record as saying I see nothing good coming out of this show. I think you all know why.
- iMac 3.2Ghz 1TB - MacBook Pro 15" Core i7 2.3Ghz / 256SSD (Work laptop)
- PowerMac G5 - Dual 2.0 Ghz, 3GB, Soundsticks!,
- Lenovo Thinkpad T510 (also a work laptop), Win 7 Enterprise, 8GB, 320GB HDD

I have a sneaking suspicion they're playing it on Fridays in my area... which is like basically asking me never to ever see it.

Didn't you get the memo about DVR requirements before coming here?

I'll consider getting a DVR when I upgrade my 15 year-old 19 inch TV.

You better get rid of that TV fast. At that age they start experimenting with cable and, *choke*, SATELLITE. Pretty soon you don't recognize them anymore.
