You read the time at the orange line. Hour on the left, minute on the right. It's 12:15 in that picture.

Ahh ok, it didn't click that the part with the hours and the part with the minutes were two separate parts and moved independantly of each other.

Yeah, it's essentially a watch where the hands are stationary and the faces move.

Wouldn't that make the white numbers hard to read?

'nother Citizen wearer here

I love the thing. works great and after a couple of years of banging it around, the crystal has nary a scratch on it. Although, once in a rare while, it will decide to stop working for about a day. Doesn't seem to correlate to the battery charge, because I can leave it in front of a light all night and sometimes that fixes it and sometimes it doesn't, but it always starts working again soon after. A minor annoyance, but I also paid about a fifth of retail price for it off of eBay, so it's probably fake anyway

Count me in as a Citizen wearer.

Man, didn't realize how scratched it was until I took this photo. I've had it for almost two years now.

Bought a fake Movado in Chinatown NYC. It worked for about 2 weeks before it stopped keeping decent time. Serves me right, I guess.

Anyways, it was the first watch that I had worn in years. I had anything being on my wrists/fingers. It's taken me 6 months, and I'm just now sort of getting used to a wedding band, which is this one...

It's tungsten, so it's dark and heavy as a brick.

It also keeps excellent time.

I am in the market for a decent watch. Where did you guys go to pick out the watches?
Look in store then buy online? watch store vs. dept. store?
Any advice for something in the few hundred dollar range.

my cell phone has a clock in it. its quite a unique feature which I find negates the need for a watch.

Heh. I was hoping someone would ask.

The top says: "Strictly for use by the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China"

It was bought on the black market in China.

Here's my 1971 Omege Speedmaster Professional.
This is the real deal NASA issue.
It was my wife's uncle's watch. He was the weatherman for all of the Gemini and Apollo missions.

I also have a 1952 Rolex Zeypher
and a 1955 Movado in 14kt.

All men are created equal, but what they do after that point puts them on a sliding scale.
