I have an old 17" 1024x768 Sony LCD screen which I don't use anymore.

Would it be possible to buy a cheap Component video to VGA adaptor so I can use it as an extra TV in the bedroom?

No computer involved.

Has anyone done this?

Hmm, I've seen dvi-component but I don't seem to be able to find vga-component.

One example, but I honestly have no idea if it would even work how you want. I know you can get dvi-vga adapters so I cant imagine why there wouldn't be a vga-component adapter out there somewhere.

That adaptor changes VGA to Component video to DVI/VGA, I need to go the other way round!
Plug my component video cable into the back of a VGA monitor.
