If you work in an Apple store, or an authorized dealer/reseller, do you get a discount on Apple computers and products? Is it the same as the educational discount?

I don't know if it's changed since I worked for Apple two years ago, but I got my iMac at 25% off retail in Aug 2002.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

You still get an employee discount. I didn't take the job with apple I was offered so I'm not sure how much it is exactly.

I might be wrong, but I think a friend of mine who works for an Apple store said he got 25% off of a computer once a year and 10% off of other products.

I believe that is correct, they also can offer "Friends & Family" discounts off of items at the above 10% off as well.

I'm not here as often, as I don't have access at home right now, but I pop in occassionally, like when I'm at the laundromat, or on lunch at work.

From my friend who works at Apple: You get a "Friends & Family" discount of 15%, plus a one-time 25% discount on 1 product once a year, plus an additionl 5% discount on Christmas that can be used with the Friends & Family for a total of 20% off during the Holidays.

Wow that's pretty good!

Does that apply to working in Apple stores only though? Just wondering since I just applied for a job at an electronics store in my city that's an authorized reseller (we don't have Apple stores in Canada), so I was wondering if that would apply to that as well.

I don't know about Apple Stores, he works for Apple as a manager for their shipping hub near Sacramento.

No, Apple Resellers can do whatever they want as far as discounts are concerned (I work for one).

3 15%s
1 25%

anything in store is 10% off.

it applies to a group of products. So you can buy 3 ipods at 15% off, 3 imacs at 15% off and 1 display, 1 tower, 1 ipod at 25% off, etc.

obviously they are all NFR
