You do realize this is a parody, right?

I mean, really:

There is unconfirmed speculation that many of Apple's products will be renamed to reflect the new relationship, including iTunes - uTunes, iLife - uLife, and possibly the ultimate re-branding, iPod - uPod. A less likely scenario involves U2 renaming itself i2. Though a band does not exist by that name, a large technology company does, and most analysts remain skeptical.

All four members of the band will become Apple employees, though they will continue to operate out of Dublin.
Oh lord. Someone smoked a little too much dank before writing that article.

I'd be interested to hear your reasoning, so long as it wasn't political in nature.

Wasn't there a thread some time ago about what Apple should buy with it's nearly $9B in cash (and short term investments)? Even though this is a parody, a rock band is not it.

P.S. Nice avatar Dakar.

They shoulda invested in AC/DC, it's a sure thing. They're permanently listed on the Cool Index.

You should know.

Arguably the #1 band in the world. Bono is a humanitarian mover and shaker who moves in musical & geo-political circles. Apple is the best computer mfr. and sells a special U2 branded iPod. And if it were a real story it would make big sense AND BIG NEWS.

Obviously, I was kidding.

Well, I wasn't taking it seriously, and I wasn't sure he wasn't.

Not at all. At first I thought it was a lame music store joke (A weirdly priced $1.88 track)
