Ok so my grandma has been in the hospital for a few days due to a massive heart attack. Well after that she has had a tripal bipass surgery and is not doing so well. I just would like to ask from anyone who is religious or has any desire to pray for a woman who deserves it, to pray for my grandmother because she is a wonderfull happy woman but has recently had her problems obviously. We arent sure what is to come in the next few days but I can only pray that she either lives on like nothign happened, or she passes peacefully. She didnt want any surgery but the family couldnt let her go. well today she came out of surgery and was, well, not happy. She told us to let her go, and that she didnt want the surgery. The doctors said she had good chances with it but she seems not very well afterwards. It if finally hitting me tonight as I sit here remembering the times i shared with her. I have never had to deal with someone close passing away other then my grandpa but that was when I was very young. This is so hard to deal with now that I understand life more. Anyways before I ramble on and on I will leave it at this and just as that anyone who can to pray for her and that she can be happy with whatever happens. Thank you....

I really feel for you for two reasons. One is obvious regarding you grandmothers recent health issues. I am sure to this point she lived a wonderful full life. Maybe she knows this and is ready to move on. The second reason is the apparent discord between your grandmothers wishes and the recent decisions made on her behalf by the family. I can not imagine anything harder than letting a loved one die and making these kind of decisions.
I wish you, you family and your grandma all the best.

I don't think a person can be blamed for following human nature. Seems natural to want to save the life of a person you love. When people are ill they aren't in the best position to know what they need. When it's your time to go I don't think anybody can change it, anyway.
I'll say a prayer for your grandma. My experience shows that this forum's prayers seem to have a profound healing effect. .

… while common sense and all studies point to the opposite.
Good luck with your grandma, my grandpa died recently of cancer and it looks like my grandmother is on a downward slide as well. I feel your pain.

My thoughts and prayers to your grandmother and your family. I lost mine a few years ago to cancer. She had tumors wrapped around her thoracic vertebrae. It was so horrible watching her moan in pain for months as she withered away....
As a person who works in the field of healthcare, I urge everyone who does not invasive surgery following a traumatic injury/serious illness to retain an attorney and have Advance Directives/Living Will made up.
