I thought this was humorous. Please don't make it political.

"The crew of at least one armored car had camouflaged their vehicle with marijuana."

One soldier told him later: "Sir, three years ago before I joined the army, I never thought I'd say 'That damn marijuana'."

Cut to 15 minutes later. Spliffdaddy is reclining on the ground with a toothpick in his mouth, looking up at the sky.

"So, who's up for a 7-11 run?"

Our laws on marijuana are hardly even laws. We can get caught with under 28 grams (an ounce) and get a small slap on the wrist, as long as it's not baggied out, which would be considered trafficking.

I've been caught by cops with a pipes and joints and they dont even care. I've only had weed confiscated once, and I'm sure they just kept it for themselves.

Me and some friends were caught years ago when the laws were laws. All the cop did was pick up the roach, sniff it and say with a smirk 'run along guys, do it in your own home not in public please'. We had about an ounce on us, and he didn't even attempt a search.

Yes, no wait, I dunno it is more legal here so perhaps. I didn't want to just say "teenagers" as someone might have pictured throwing arab teenagers in the mix and I don't know where they stand.

The laws on pot in the US vary from state to state.

For example in Ohio it has been de-criminalized. You can have up to 3 ounces on you at a time, and you'd only get what amounts to a speeding ticket.

Just a fine.

I have gotten "busted" with pot twice in my life. Once when I was 18 and a cop saw a full bowl in my car. Never said anything just took it.

The second time I was caught with an ounce. Cop gave me a ticket (It was like $80 or something) and confiscated the weed.

It was good stuff too. Cop even said so.

None of which is on my record.

They have better things to do like catch a drunk driver over wasting time and money driving a teenager home because he had a joint.

Its too bad the U.S. hasn't legalized Marijuana. It could've seized that field and sold all that good bud to help fund this bankrupting war.

So I wonder if it's used as a drug mostly, or if it's used for textiles, etc. In the interior of China, there is hemp all over the place, and the stems are used to make bags, clothes, rope, etc. The leaves and buds are burned in great big communal fires are burned so entire cities smell like pot. Some people do smoke it, but that's not its primary purpose, and it apparently takes a lot of it to get you high. It's nowhere near as potent as the stuff sold in North America.

BTW, a colleague of mine was hiking in the forest near his cottage (in Canada) when he came across a undocumented path. He decided to follow the path for a little while... and came across a forest of pot plants. They were over 6 feet high.

He went back home, and brought his friend with him the following week to show him. When he got back, all the pot plants were gone. The whole "plantation" was completely harvested.

Those guys are fast.

Isn't hemp and weed very different?

Only the females have THC and if any make plants grow around them they kill or transform the female plants into makes with no THC.

I know some people who grow and after the plants start to sprout they figure out which is male and remove and destroy them.

Both hemp raised for its fibre and cultivated marijuana for drugs contain THC. The former has way less though, and in Canada the legal limit is 1% THC for hemp. ie. You don't really get high off smoking hemp raised for its fibre in Canada.

The hemp growing wild in Asia often has much more THC than Canadian hemp, but way less than Okanagan weed. So, you can get high off the stuff in Asia, even though it's not specifically used for that purpose, but you have to smoke a fair amount of it.

The male vs. female thing is something completely different. Apparently, when you remove the males, THC will increase in the females significantly. However, that would be true with other cannibis species as well, but for some species the THC is so low to begin with that it's irrelevant.
