Great shot to end it in a great game played in the slush. Mats is a class captain and a true superstar in the league ... the very definition of the power forward. Nice to see him get his 500th goal on such a bullet shot while short-handed.

Great flow to the game overall 'though I thought Raycroft had an ordinary outing.

I loved Cassy Campbell on color. I could listen to her talk hockey all night. Now if we could just get Bob Cole to STFU and at least stick to some semblance of play by play. The man rambles at times.

Wellwood is a wizard with the puck and slippery as a fish to hit in open ice. He dished off a soft pass and ducked a bomb of a check by Dion Phaneuf at one point.

Overall I'm loving the speed and flow of the game this season. Time to go watch the other side of CBC's double header.

Sorry guys. I guess not everyone can relate to the things I enjoy. Thanks for your replies nonetheless.

No worries; I expected my thread to drop like a stone. I had figured a few Canadians might want to indulge in some hockey talk.

Perhaps its time to seek out a new discussion board. This place seems out of my league.

It's certainly good that he got it. I still say that it doesn't mean jack until he at least leads a team into the Cup Finals, though. I know that can be called an unfair judgement, but in my mind that's just the way it is - when you had ~5+ years of being one of the highest-salaried teams in the league, had supposedly great goaltending, and had supposedly one of the greatest coaches in the game today (both of which I disagree with, BTW, but most Leaf fans didn't seem to like my arguments ) then you should be doing more than, what, getting to the Conference finals twice in the last however many decades?

I'm not also sure how you could call Mats the "very definition" of the power forward?!? I don't think he's even been called a power forward ever in his life! He's smooth, slick, strong on his skates and is great at holding on to the puck - and in fact his primary reputation has never been pure goal-scoring, but playmaking. But he's never been a physical player (given his large size), which is a defining characteristic of the power forward, and has never been known for using the forecheck to create turnovers. Players like Cam Neely, John LeClair, Todd Bertuzzi and Keith Tkachuk are all power forwards - and if you look at their style of play, you will find it differs remarkably from that of Sundin's.

I also agree with you on the Air Canada ice. It's disgraceful for one of the most storied franchises in the league. I do believe that the NHL should begin to implement some sort of "minimum ice conditions" test, perhaps accompanied by fines if an arena fails the test more than a certain number of times a season. The ACC is just getting ridiculous. Of course, Edmonton apparently has some of the best ice in the league...so I just might be biased here.

Don't worry...you'll get some hockey talk. Give it time, grasshopper.

WTF dude? Don't you have anything better to do than to jump in on every thread and give us your verdict of its appropriateness? Do you realize that you look like a complete asshole doing this?

Chill the hell out man, this is just a message board. Stop behaving like a complete dick.
