Spent a total of 15 hours in 3 different jails. I was out by 10pm Saturday night, thank goodness. I don't want to discuss what happened for me to get arrested, just because. I will say it had to do with my driving record, and it was not a DUI or anything similar.
Let's hope none of us are in jail any time soon. **** that place.
I live 20 miles from my job and I can't drive there now. I had to get my car out of impound Monday ($180), and I'll be notified of my upcoming court date shortly via mail.
Anyhoo, got out of work tonight, took a walk down the beach and took these pics:
check the plane:
and another one:
fiber optic trim changes color along the beach wall for miles and miles:

not speeding. I had multiple suspensions a year ago.. I paid mucho $$ to have everything lifted and got a new license.
Haven't gotten a ticket or anything since. Get pulled over the other day, get arrested. Trust that I'll be investigating this and making sure all my dates and payments line up before I go to court for this.

Something similar happened to my old roomie. She had gotten enough points on her license that she was required to go to 'points class', otherwise her license would be suspended. So she did the class as required and figured all was well. Then she got pulled over, and her car was impounded for driving on a suspended license. Turns out that somehow, the local DMV had "lost" the proof from the points class, so they never processed her as having done it.
It took a few weeks to re-prove to the DMV that she had in fact completed her points class before she was pulled over, and even more work to get the DMV to pay out a tort claim to refund her the impound charges.

Dude, that sucks.
Don't know how other countries are handling this, but I know that this stuff (jailtime for driving w/ suspended license) would never happen in Germany. They can't throw you in jail w/o conviction, unless you pose an immediate threat to the general public.
Yeay for America, land of the free, where the cop can do anything with you because by default, he is always right.
So, for the fun of it: Only in Amaraca !

Well generally, usually, most of the time, they hand you a ticket for driving on a suspended and let you drive away. My situation was a little different. I don't even want to say the word: felony. This was a habitual traffic offender charge, which is a felony in my state. Heavy punishment of up to 5 years no license is the worst that can happen.
All the money I spent on fixing my license, smiling faces handing me a new one, and then a year later this happens. I'm quite unhappy about all this, if you can imagine.

A few hours at the local station, then to a sub-station where they collect people from the area that have been arrested, then around 5pm we went downtown in a "paddywaggon" I was cuffed to another guy, and when we got out of the van, a homie was fighting with a guard as he was being booked into jail. Something about the guard touching his dcik while patting him down. The guy was going berzerko, talking about killing the guard and whatnot. I then spent another 5 or so hours there.
Stay clean chitlins!!

So what is jail like anyway? Pretty much what you see on TV where you are stuck in a cell with a group of people and some big ugly, biker guy that immediately starts pinching your cheeks?

Everything but the cheek pinching. Add in a bunch of Trick Daddy lookin' thugs and shifty eyed individuals and you start to get the picture. It's very not cool in there.
I smuggled these outta the joint:
they call them "slides"

*high-five*
Welcome to the club. Hey, at least you don't fear being arrested and jailed anymore. Ain't as bad as they claim.
Of course, most folks still fear the whole getting arrested thing. Keeps 'em outta trouble. They fear 'the man'. We do not.
I'm entertained when somebody threatens to have me arrested. I'm like "um, ok, whatever". I'll be out in 20 minutes. usually. Well except that one time when it was many days. But I loved the peace and tranquility of incarceration. Nobody can call you and ask for a favor. You don't care if it's raining outside. All the people you owe money to will just have to suck it up and wait. ah yes. The good life. Shooting craps and reading books until you're tired of it. Watching TV with your cellmate buddies. Man o man I miss those good times.
but anyways, congratulations for not being a total prude. I think everybody should get arrested at least once in their life. Helps build character.

Jail might be nice if you are in pussy-jail, but solitary confinement sucks. Even if it's overnight.
