Isn't it GREAT to have voice mail on your cell service?
That way your airline, for example, can leave you a message while you're in the air (supposedly with your cell OFF) like:
"This is AA calling. We realize you are in the air right now. We just wanted you to be aware that your connecting flight #666 has been canceled. You have been rebooked on flight #0666. Upon arrival please head to Gate Lucky 7."
This would have really helped my wife upon her landing in DFW...
except that the voicemail did not show up (as "You have 1 new voice mail") on her cell display until TWO days later.
I've had friends on OTHER cell services have same experience with HOURS of delay in having their cell voicemail alert them... resulting in missed dates, opportunities, etc.
What is with this sukky voice mail. Happen to you? I've had these nasties so far with Cingular & Sprint. (meaning: changing carriers doesn't sound promising when looking for better service) You?

What does that have to do with sukky (sic!) voicemail ?
Ther service that sucks here is the Short Message Service. I have noticed that the SMS services in the US are considerably slower than in Europe. I don't know if it's the gateways or what.

I've had voicemails come up three days after they were made, so yeah, I hear ya.
Nextel sucks balls, my contract is up in two days and I will be promptly sh*t-canning it.

I'm using Cingular right now. My biggest complaint is the answer tones. Even though it is setup correctly, only people on the Cingular network can hear it. However, everyone is supposed to be able to. Talking to people at Cingular is like .

I thought the public service commissions handled those types of complaints. I thought wireless was covered. I have Verizon and haven't ran into voice messages coming through that late. Keep in mind though .. more regulation ... means more cost ...

I dumped Cingular recently due to brute force incompetence, shoddy and ill-designed
equipment and the worst customer service in existence. Horrible.

Cingular coverage is decent, and a lot of my family are on that network, so I picked them. Where I live there are three options; Edge, Cingular and US Cellular.
I've found that after numerous carriers, all of them have some stupid people working for them.
