That article says Tigerton will be the first MP chip based on the Core microarchitecture. Isn't Clovertown an MP chip based on Core?

'MP' in Intel parlance means a system with more than 2 sockets.

People have already played around with installing dual - 4 core CPUs in the current Mac Pro...

One note... back in 1997, I went to Carnegie Mellon to watch Jean-Louis Gassé showcase the BeOS. They said back then that multi processors were the future well BEYOND high end systems.

They argued that even low end systems would benefit.

Why spend $920 on a single xeon 5080 dual-core 3.73ghz system when you could buy a quad - xeon 5030 dual-core 2.67ghz system for less money (each cpu costing $169 [$676 for all 4]).
