I never thought playing a song backwards could form coherent words. Strange.

i wonder about the copyrights and stuff when playing things backwards...

maybe you could make a drum beat, put reversed songs on it and other things... i wonder if any laws apply to backwards messages.

i suppose what you could do is get a video file.. somehow convert it into an ogg. have an app that doesnt play the sound.. but has a decoder that recognizes the different waveform shapes.. reverse this.. send it to someone... they decode it..

i wonder if that is technically legal. it is sort of what was used to get the original firmware out of a 4g ipod... through the piezo

In my opinion, except for a few songs with intentionally VERY discernible words put in backwards, most "hidden message" songs like Stairway to Heaven are merely the result of random backward syllables sounding vaguely like real words. For example, while the lads in Led Zep were indeed interested in the occult, the "backward message" is so garbled and twisted that it's hard to imagine that anyone would actually expect anyone else to perceive it. Just my 2¢...

many pink floyd songs have 'secret messages' in them and sometimes when you play the song backwards you hear "Congratulations you have found the secret message

sorry, multi-quote isnt working for me but:

did you know that if you play the end credits for that simpsons episode, you can hear random gibberish?

that is because they recorded mccartney saying:

"• one medium onion, chopped
• two tablespoons of vegetable oil
• one clove of garlic, crushed
• one cup of carrots, chopped
• two sticks of celery, chopped
• half a cup of lentils
• one bay leaf
• one tablespoon of freshly-chopped parsley
• salt and freshly-ground pepper to taste
• two and a quarter cups of vegetable stock or water
Oh, and by the way, I'm alive."

and reversed it and mixed it on there.

that was from the second song from here: List of hidden messages - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
