I am so sorry, but I have no clue where to post this topic because it doesn't appear to be able to fit in any other forum.

I was wondering, in the past years has Apple ever offered Christmas specials. Like if you purchased a computer, you get an ipod with it.

thanks

They will probably have a "Black Friday" sale the day after Thanksgiving...but don't expect major savings.

Does it have USB2 and Firewire ?

I won't buy it if it doesn't have FW.

I'd buy a white Apple-logo ornament. Or maybe I'll just stick some iPod Socks on our tree.

Apple has offered 10% off iPod accessories on BF the last 2 years in a row. I suspect they will do the same this year as they probably sell a ton of iPods on that day anyway.

Of course, if you buy on Black Friday, that'll usually put your gift outside the return period when it's finally opened on Dec. 25.

iMac's have been on sale from 5-8% off along with various cameras and peripherals. For those that have a corporate discount, in 2005 they allowed that to be used on the same day! In L.A. that translated to getting an iMac essentially tax free and AppleCare for free.

If you're a college student or know someone who works at a school, you could get an educational discount.

I don't suppose they'd allow a combination of an educational discount with any discount they have on Black Friday? Anyone have experience with this?

I read that Apple offered $100 off iMacs last year, too. Apple does not discount the discounts (like education or refurbs), so you gain nothing by waiting.

I will apply for an Apple branded Rewards Visa Card. Apple can then receive a byte of my every transaction; a gift which keeps on giving!
STEVE JOBS: Where is my APPLE Rewards Visa Card? Other LOYALISTS have SONY Rewards Visa Card: DISNEY Rewards Visa Card: ESPN Rewards Visa Card!

Actually, they have a holiday return policy in effect now. All products purchased between October 31st and December 24th are eligible for an RMA (Return Material Authorization) by January 8, 2007.

Booyah.

They also have little signs mentioning this at the cash registers at Apple Stores.

Promotional discounts don't stack with normal discounts, however, Educational and Government discounts do stack.

You can get up to 15% off if you're a classified worker at a public school or university, or, if you're attending school while working for state or federal government.
