I like Paypal although the service fee is turd high. However, Google Checkout is worse than PayPal.

whoa...i've not had any problems with paypal but i have heard the horror stories. maybe it was an inside job? an employee who got screwed over and knew when nobody would be there and how to send a "message".

Well, I have used PayPal a few times and I don't know either what's so bad about them!?

I've never had any particular problems with Paypal either, but I have heard horror stories of them freezing the funds in people's accounts when there is any kind of dispute, even if the people in question did nothing wrong. And then there is the issue of chargebacks (having Paypal unilaterally decide that the you must pay back the money you received from someone, perhaps because the person used a stolen credit card, or because they claim that something was wrong with your product). Since Paypal highly encourages you to link your account to your real bank account, this can mean that they end up taking money right out of your bank account.
