Some guy on Craig's List is trying to scam me...

So I'm trying to sell my PowerBook on Craig's List.
I get the classic bad English reply about how they'll pay me $200 more than what I'm asking and free shipping. Of course, they'll pay me through "PayKo," whatever the hell that is.
I'm thinking of trying to scam them back. Somehow get them to send me a "processing fee" so I can send them the money. Maybe get a few hundred bucks out of it.

What could possibly go wrong?

"'Jelly Hat' sounds silly," I told Prince. "How about something poetic, like 'Raspberry Beret.'"

I never understood why some people love Craislist and hate eBay.

Because on craigslist, if you're using it right, you meet the seller/buyer in person. Makes scamming harder.
I wouldn't mess with anybody trying to scam you. These people are criminals, don't forget. You don't want them to know anything about you.

I guess it works better for people who only want to buy/sell within a drivable distance.

Because Craigslist is safer if its used the way it was designed. That is online classifieds and being classifieds you exchange cash and product.
I've sold a fair amount of stuff on craigslist and its always been cash. The buyer likes this approach too as he can physically review the product before buying.
Some people use paypal and ship items using craiglist and from that perspective its no different then eBay.
I was selling a computer a while back and a prospective buyer from another country was willing to buy it for $500 dollars more then what its worth and include shipping. Come on how many people really fall this these types of scams? I was willing to execute the transaction provided he sent cash. For some reason he never responded

I sold a PowerBook, a projector, and a dog last week on Craigslist. I did have more scams than real offers on the PowerBook, but still was able to sell everything in less than five days. I only buy/sell locally on Craigslist.

Decided to just ignore. I might try it if I ever get one from Nigeria, but inside the U.S. is a little too close.

I am having a bummer of a time selling a Sony Vaio on e-bay. I keep getting scammed. Is Craigslist any better? Where can an honest guy sell a computer these days?

Just make sure you state that you will not ship international and only accept paypal verified, and that should weed out a few of the scammers.

I posted to Craigslist and got a scammer within 10 minutes. I put it back on e-bay and got another scammer within 3 hours. Go figure.

I read about a very similar situation where a guy scammed the guy back.
Scamming the Scammer
It is really very funny, if you ask me.
