So unfair. First Eccleston, now Piper.

I don't think the new Dr. Who stands a chance now.

BP is leaving ? Says who ?

Pardon the pun.

I agree about Eccleston. I started watching Dr. Who again because of him (I thought he was a yoyo, which made him a great Dr.).

Gee, I hope they're friendly..........

She's so chav anyway.

SPOILER WARNING. (scroll over)
IMO, she was getting pretty irritating by mid-, late-second season, so I'm glad she's gone.

But, Army of Ghosts and Doomsday were definitely two of the best Rose stories. She goes out with style.

Interestingly, Billie Piper once said she'd like to play the Doctor herself. See here.. And Russell T. Davies, the show's producer, worked on and subsequently cancelled production of a Rose Tyler spin-off series called Rose Tyler: Earth Defense. No joke.

Here's a press release from the BBC on Billy Piper's departure: Billie Piper to leave Doctor Who.

Yeah, but I didn't want to point that out - especially to those who are watching the second season for the first time on Scifi.

Who ever would have thought somebody would get this upset over Billie Piper leaving something?

well, it was a bad career move on her part, but we'll see. And her last few eps are very well done.

Two best characters in the new Dr. Who and they get rid of 'em.

Don't think I can watch it now. I don't care for the new assistant.

well, truth be told she was only in one episode and had like 3 minutes of screen time ... and then they killed her.

i will give her the benefit of the doubt and see where it goes. the directors have done a great job reviving that franchise so i cannot see them picking someone that couldn't handle the part.

Why don't you care for the new companion?

Like houstonmacbro said, Freema Agyeman was only on-screen on Doctor Who for a few minutes total before her character was killed, and even then she wasn't playing the Doctor's new companion.

Spoilers (scroll over):
For those who don't know, Freema Agyeman played a Torchwood assistant in the last two season 2 Doctor Who episodes. The same actress will be back playing the Doctor's new companion, a completely different character, in season 3.

Give the new companion a chance.

And I may be in the minority here, but I think Billie Piper has hands down they sexiest mouth on TV. When she runs that tongue over those big teeth I get a bit weak in the knees.

She was in the preview for Runaway Bride. Maybe that didn't run on the U.S. version, but it was on the BBC.

I just really liked the Rose character. She kinda reminded me of a British version of Kaylee.
