Unless you're informed, please do NOT vote. The majority of Americans who won't be voting today are most likely doing their country a favor.

Unless your state supports same-day voter registration, this is somewhat preaching to the choir.

I already did. Voted for several independents, a handful of Republicans, a sprinkling of Democrats, and even two Green-Rainbows. I don't like any of the incumbents, so I didn't vote for any of them except one. And the reason I voted for him was that his opponent was from the Socialist-Workers party. Just couldn't bring myself to do it...

If you live in Massachusetts, vote Christy Mihos for Governor!

More people are registered to vote than show up at the polls.

Can you still vote via paper/pencil if you want over the electronic variety?

Depends on where you live. In my city we do Inka-vote, but we also have the option of going to one of the electronic voting terminals located in the big vote hubs.

You may not have a choice, machines seem to be breaking left and right.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/A...-Problems.html

Electronic voting machine problems frazzled voters and election workers in dozens of precincts as the polls opened Tuesday, delaying voters in Indiana and Ohio and leaving some in Florida with little choice but turn to paper ballots instead.

In Cleveland, voters rolled their eyes as poll workers fumbled with new voting machines that they couldn't get to start properly.

''We got five machines -- one of them's got to work,'' said Willette Scullank, a trouble shooter from the Cuyahoga County, Ohio, elections board.

Election officials in Delaware County, Ind., planned to seek a court order to extend voting after an apparent computer error prevented voters from casting ballots in 75 precincts. Delaware County Clerk Karen Wenger said the cards that activate the machines were programmed incorrectly.

Please do not vote today. You will look foolish, and I do not want you to look foolish.

If you still feel the need to vote, watch American Idol when it returns... though that is not your civil duty.
