Jimmy Kimmel Show: Someone Please Explain Why U Like It

Every time I really try to watch the Jimmy Kimmel show I become so repulsed I have to change the channel.

I enjoy him on Crank Yankers as Elmer. I enjoyed him on The Man Show. I enjoyed his stints on the Fox NFL Pre-Game Shows making fun of the beloved and respected former NFL Pittsburgh Steelers QB, Hall of Famer, Terry Bradshaw. I loved his celebrity roast on Comedy Central.

But as a talk show host I think his lack of SOMETHING leaves a LOT to be desired.

Lack of natural wit or humor or mental quickness or timing or charm or SOMETHING. I can't figure out what it is.

Then I keep going back to the same thought:

Who DOES like his show and WHY???

I ask you.

I don't like any talk shows except for the produced bits and perhaps for the rare interesting guest that they may have on. That is the reason why I can watch the Kimmel show just like any other...for the first 10 minutes of the show there are sometimes some funny jokes and some hilarious skits such as his "unnecessary censorship" bit and the Man Show-like pranks that they pull on people.

Not much of an answer to your query though, was it? I'll check back with this thread because I too wonder why somebody would rather watch Kimmel than Conan O'Brien or Carson Da...ly....well......scratch that last one.

I avoid Jimmy because the small amount of funny I get from him is more than offset by the "I outgrew that when I was 16" factor I get from almost everything he does. I watched "The Man Show" ONCE, and wound up feeling like Animal House had taken over my TV.

When I do watch him, I watch him because he's not Conan, not Leno.

"'Jelly Hat' sounds silly," I told Prince. "How about something poetic, like 'Raspberry Beret.'"
