Ok, as suggested in this thread, I decided to post a poll to name my cat.

I prefer names that are unusual "people" names rather than "pet" names. Sorry, of all the names that were suggested there was only ONE I REALLY liked.

Maya - I just like the sound of it.

Mara - This is the Buddhist idea of "the Devil" and it sounds feminine to me. I like it because my other cat is named Angel.

Cleo - this is from the other thread. Again, I just like the sound of it.

Suki - This is a name that I always liked for a pet. I had a big ol' Bloodhound/Rotweiler mix named Suki that died at a year old. I think I'd like to use it again. (I think it means "beloved" in Japanese)

I'll take this thread seriously, unlike the other one. If the poll part shows up.

I would name it after a liquor. Is that cat a blond colour? Name it Brandy.

Oh, I see that the OP has been edited. N/M

How about Kaya. It works for both men and women and is very A-typical and would be really cute for a kitty.

It means one of the following:

1) Seagull
2) Little Sister
3) marijuana (Bob marley has a song "Got to have Kaya now"
4) lots more but I forgot

I voted Suki 'cause I like saying it. Suki Suki Suki.

"'Jelly Hat' sounds silly," I told Prince. "How about something poetic, like 'Raspberry Beret.'"

I went with Mara, since it goes with the name of your other cat.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

We have a black cat named Cleo. She's a bit of a turd though.

I don't actually llike that name for a cat, as it's pretty cliched. My wife came up with it before we met. My two cats are named Ozob and Snod.

I think you should name your cat Snod. But from your list I choose Suki, because that was the name of Jerri Blank's pet chicken on Strangers with Candy.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

I vote for Mavroulla.

(Pronounced "mah-VROO-luh")

Greek for... "Blackie"

EDIT: we had a black and white tuxedo female named Mavroulla.

My parent's current cat is a black and white tuxedo male with a white "mustache" on his upper lip. They call him "Moustaki" (moo-STAHK-ee), which is Greek for mustache.

That's not a guy. That's Maya the Bee. She is German although the animated cartoon was Japanese.

The cartoon was shown in the US, too, in English.

When my Greek cousin's daughter was three, they visited us here in the US. They live in Stuttgart. One day while they were here I was flipping through the channels and she got all excited and jumped up and down, yelling "Die Biene Maya! Die Biene Maya!"

So I put it on the channel. She watched for a few moments and then asked me why she couldn't understand what they were saying. I told her it was in English, not German. She seemed to understand, but didn't care. She went on watching it.
