So I bought a refurb Intel Mini, and I was glad to see that it shipped out from California on the same day that I bought it. I check the Fedex tracking for the package today, and I see this:

"Nov 16, 2006 11:38 AM Delivered to a non-FedEx clearance broker RICHMOND, BC"

WTF is this? Everything I've ever bought from the Apple.ca store (which is a lot) has always been delivered directly to the Ship To address, with only a signature required. All of a sudden it's getting shipped to a clearance broker? What the hell is that about?

Not only do I have to wait a few extra days (might even be Monday by the time I get my hands on the Mini), but if I have to pay a brokerage fee of some sort, then I'm going to be sorely pissed off.

Can anyone lend any insight into why this happened?

I would agree with Rumor. It's a possibility. But your prior experience makes that possibility seem sort of odd.

In any sense, sorry about your luck. At least you live in Vancouver.

Nah, it was released for shipment. Take a look: https://www.fedex.com/Tracking?track...s=717107624598

If you order from Apple.ca you don't pay customs, even if it does ship from the US.

Yes, Apple pays for it. Still has to go through customs if it comes out of a US warehouse.

Yes, and so is Mexico.
But that did not make customs obsolete.
