Imagine waiting in line all that time, just to see this happen? I'm surprised there wasn't more of an outrage.

I think it is brilliant, it shows not that the PS3 sucks, but how much people will do (like standing in line for 18 hours) just to get their hands on a new game system, I love games, but I am not wasting my time standing on line for something I know isn't going to be stocked in the store when I get to the front. These people need to get some lives.

85% of the people in that line were there to ebay their systems anyway, so I doubt they cared about the loss of the system, just the loss of the $$$

I saw them do this with the 360 and was equally unimpressed. It wasn't funny in my opinion, it was just stupid.

The pimp costume was stupid, and the guy swinging the sledgehammer had less success with it than my 10 year old niece would have.

They could have been far more creative with the destruction.

I think the sad thing is the people who donated so this could be smashed. I have no problem with it being smashed, I find it amusing... well more so the people crying "noooooo" and "can i have the controller."

There's no chance I would send someone money so they could smash something.

It would've been infinitely funnier if there were more of a horrified reaction to it from those standing in line. But all we got were a few barely audible "What an idiot" or "Moron!". Oh well, one less PS3 out there in the market.

And who are they trying to piss off here? Sony? Nope they got their money. People standing in line? Nope, didn't work, they saw right through the stupidity.

I think the only people to lose here are those who donated and those who wasted 3 minutes of their time watching the video.

Meh, I went to the root site for that video (smashmyps3.com) and it appears they raised the money to do it through donations ... so they aren't out $600. Also, they have ads for PS3s and iPods all over their site despite the destruction. It appears to just be random fun/weirdness for no particular reason as stated in the disclaimer on their site
