Interactive: Comparing Tiger, Nicklaus
By Jim McCabe
Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

No matter which way you order it, the two will always be linked.

Nicklaus, the all-time leader in major victories with 18, exited the majors scene at golf's birthplace, St. Andrews in Scotland, last year.

Nicklaus, 66, may have won "only" three British Opens (his fewest total among the four majors), but two of those victories were at the Old Course.

Woods, who at 30 is now two-thirds of the way to Nicklaus' amazing record, was there, switching the spotlight to himself in the final round by joining the Golden Bear as the only Americans to win twice at St. Andrews with a dominating performance for his 10th major (he's at 12 now).

There we go again, Nicklaus and Woods, linked like few other athletes.

It's simply hard to avoid.

(Did we mention that Nicklaus and Woods are the only two to win each major at least twice?).

What has made these two, arguably the two greatest golfers of all time, so exceptional?

Is it their skill?

Love of the game?

Determination?

Imagination?

As it turns out, it's a bit of all of those, and much, much more.

Follow along as MSNBC.com takes a detailed look at Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus in key categories that have helped defined their careers.

Tiger wins seventh straight Grand Slam of Golf
Woods rallies with 6-under 66 to beat Furyk by two strokes

Tiger Woods poses with the trophy and hula dancers after winning the Grand Slam of Golf for the seventh straight time Wednesday. The British Open and PGA champion finished the 36-hole tournament with an 8-under 136 total to earn $500,000, giving him more than $3 million in career Grand Slam winnings.

POIPU BEACH, Hawaii - There are winning streaks in sports that may never be broken: the Boston Celtics’ 10 straight NBA titles, Lance Armstrong’s seven consecutive Tour De France wins and John Wooden’s UCLA winning seven straight national championships.

Add Tiger Woods’ dominant run at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf to that list.

Woods rallied to win the Grand Slam for a record seventh straight time, closing with a bogey-free 6-under 66 on Wednesday to beat Jim Furyk by two strokes.
Nicklaus was the greatest but Tiger is already there and I think Tiger Woods will go down in history as THE greatest golfer of all time.

BTW, here's Tiger's 155' Yacht, "Privacy."
