Okay, so for Christmas, the only thing I really want in 2GB of RAM for my MacBook. My parents agreed to it, but all the local places here are way too expensive. One place is asking ~$500(CDN) for 2GB, but most places I have looked at online it would cost me ~$350(CDN).

I'm trying to find the best deal I can, and unfortunately NewEgg does not ship to Canada

if anyone knows some really good places to buy RAM (brand doesn't matter much), and that ships to Canada, please post it up!

Ordering the cheapest RAM is like hiring the cheapest lawyer.

Good luck.

Didn't you hear, RAM is a commodity - there are no differences in quality out there, so you should find the cheapest RAM there is, from a sleazy non-secure website, if possible. Why not try eBay for some used RAM? Maybe there are some that were mishandled and thrown around a bit - you could get quite a discount!

Besides, what effect could low-quality RAM possibly have on the speed and stability of your system? It's hardly even used at all - it's pretty much just for show.

Ebay or the 'NN Marketplace. Don't listen to awaspaas. There are major differences between RAM companies in warranty and longevity.

I've ordered the most generic cheapest ram from either ebay or other websites and had absolutely zero problems in my years and years of computing experience.

Have we sufficiently confused the poor original poster yet? Perhaps I didn't make my facetiousness scathing enough...

Try OWC: Apple Mac G4 upgrades, Laptop Batteries, Memory, Drives. I'm not sure if they ship to Canada or not though. I've always bought my ram through them and haven't had any issues.

I've always ordered my memory from crucial.com and have never been disappointed. They do ship to canada, but I'm not certain they'll have the best price for you.

edit: looks to be about $318CDN from crucial.

Most major RAM manufacturers have a "value" RAM you can buy. I guess they're made of cheaper parts, but they still offer lifetime warranties.

I bought a Kingston Value RAM, it died about 7 months of use, but I had no problems getting it replaced for free. The other RAM chip is fine. That was the first time I've ever had a stick of RAM go bad. I've always bought "cheap" RAM, I just make sure it has a lifetime warranty.

I've had just the opposite experiences.

In my own MacBook. I ordered 2gb of Crucial RAM. Didn't want to have a problem.

What company did you order from so we can be sure to avoid them?

X2.

BTW, Crucial.com is a good site. Apparently they're going to make me pay $42 in some random tax. I've never had to pay something like that before.

They do not ship anywhere. They only link you to various suppliers. It's like pricewatch but with memory.
