I think it's a cool idea, but I'd suggest some different parameters.
1. Groups organized by country.
2. Max gift value= $10 (USD)
3. Gifts must be sent to be received by Thurs, Dec. 21.
We'd also need a designated "Hat Master" to
- Receive PM's with each participant's name and mailing address.
- Divy the groups up by country
- Put names in a hat and select the recipient for each Secret Santa.
- Private message each participant with the name and address of the person to whom they are to give a gift.
Obviously, there needs to be some trust here, both with the "Hat Master", and with each Secret Santa so as to not screw around and start divulging users' real names, home addresses, etc.
If we can find a willing and worthy Hat Master, this can be pulled off.
