I'm curious to know how many of you are hardcore MacNN users. I only have 57 subscribed threads, but that number seems to be rising rapidly the past few days.
Anyone else?

Zero. I've never subscribed to a thread, and I'm not entirely sure what it means to be subscribed to one.

No need to subscribe when you're checking the forums every 30 seconds anyways...

Actually your second "rule" is incorrect. Ending a sentence with a preposition is fine.
Anyways, I'm subscribed to zero threads. Like people above have said, I don't even know what it means, and I've never been tempted to do it.

When you subscribe to a thread and click on User CP, you can see right on that main page which threads have new replies. It speeds things up alot because you don't have to go around finding all of your threads.

Don't need to. If it's still something we want to look at, it's right there on the first page. If not, we usually let it die.

I suppose this would be more useful to people who post in somewhere other the lounge.

Definitely. I usually stay out of those places though. Some of them remind me of GameFaqs.

That's why I do it. I post alot in the hardware forums, and it's hard to keep track of everything because they all pass by very quickly.

Hmmm, 1403 apparently. It auto-subscribes me to any thread I reply to, and I almost exclusively browse MacNN by the User CP.
I don't receive any emails though, that would just be annoying.

Only 4, and three of them were threads I started myself.

None I think. Perhaps some old ones, but then I cancelled that stupid auto-subscribe feature. I was always getting those annoying emails. Grrr.

So auto-subscribe seems to be the culprit.
How come it got turned on for some, and not for others ?
