Comic book fans:
What a drag. Just saw that Dave Cockrum passed away Sunday. This is too bad, but he had been in horrible health for a long time. He left his mark on comics and costume designs for years and had a huge hand in creating the modern run of X-Men. Always one of my favs.
iirc Joe Q. and Marvel finally stepped up to the plate a bit and reached a settlement with Dave that help pay for some medical bills, but clearly not all. Amazing, the guy has such a huge role in making Marvel Comics a staggering amount of money because of his creative talents, and he has to resort to fund raising to pay medical bills. Part of the reason creator-rights are so strong in the comics industry now.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
