Anybody have experience selling a diamond ring? Wife and I are thinking of selling the engagement ring and sticking to our wedding bands...

Where would one sell a ring? How does one go about doing this, after getting it appraised?

don't sell it you'll not get near what you paid for it. try to find a diamond broker in your area they'll buy it usually about 30 - 40% of value though.

You find the largest body of water possible then find some way of positioning yourself over the deepest part of said water and then you throw the ring as far as you can into the churning waters.

Ceremony is over.

Go home.

Ring?

What ring?

Sell an engagement ring? You'll regret it. And if you won't, she will.

Man, oh man. It's a TEST. And you're about to FLUNK IT. Sell BLOOD before you sell a diamond.

It doesn't matter what she says NOW. She will NEVER FORGET selling the ring. Oh man.
He can be fixed -- you can't.

One of my previous clients takes older dated rings and removes the diamonds to make newer modern rings them. The results are quite impressive and it scores in the sentimental department.

They jack the prices up so high to sell them, and they make it seem like there is "demand" when there really isn't one. There was an article floating around here about how worthless diamonds really are, outside of the sentimentals. All the marketing on the radio / billboards / tv makes them seem so sought after and amazing, with the wealth and "true love" they symbolize... its all garbage really.

Anyone who is willing to buy it, won't offer you anything near what you paid, and chances are they won't be able to sell it for too much either. Keep it, as its value really is just in sentiments, not dollars. Maybe pass it on down the family later on in life.
yep.

Having been married for many years, I'm gonna have to agree with this assessment.

Besides, you'd get a lot more money for your Besson trumpet.

If you can get a hold of that program, you'd want to watch that. The transcript just doesn't do it justice.
