I've been searching a while for a dress shirt that shouldn't be that uncommon, but apparetnly is. All I want is a reasonably priced white dress shirt, with an athletic/fitted tailoring, and with french cuffs. In my searching I can either get the fit, or the cuff, not both.

Does anyone know of any sites (not amazon, nothing there) or stores that sell these? I want to avoid getting a custom fit, I just need the 'fitted or athletic' fit and the cuff.

I don't know where you are but you could check at Club Monaco, Banana Republic, Bloomingdales, eluxury(expensive). They all have a line of "fitted" or "slim fit" dress shirts. You might also have some luck at Men's Wearhouse. I don't know what your idea of reasonably priced is but I haven't seen a fitted dress shirt with french cuffs under $50 recently.

Yeah you might have to actually DRIVE somewhere like JC Pennys or something. Sorry to rain on your parade.

OK, so I checked my local Jiffy Lube and their selection of dress shirts left a lot to be desired.

But then I live in the country, so maybe that's not the case in urban areas.

What's so special about finding this special shirt? I can't imagine any dress code that is that specific.

He might just want the shirt. It might not be for a particular dress code; just a preference. I've been looking for a certain kind of dress shirt as well, but I can't find it anywhere, and we have great shopping around here.

Notice I did say sites OR stores.

Walmart, Jiffy Lube...Funny.

Thanks Zeeb, for providing useful information.

Reasonably priced as in $50 or less. Ive found the style of shirt from Ralph Lauren, but I don't want to pay $375 for it.

I recently got into the style of french cuff shirts. I'd rather wear cufflinks than have plastic buttons for a formal occasion. I want the fitted style because while I do have a 15 1/2 neck, I dont need the rest of the shirt fitted for a 38 inch waist. I'd rather not have it custom fit because the price usually skyrockets.

I've never been fond of French cuffs, and I only own 2 shirts that have them. I usually just leave the sleeves unbuttoned, but people don't realize it since I rarely take off my jackets. French cuffs just feel too bulky underneath the jacket's sleeves.

I have trouble just finding shirts with sleeves that are long enough. I need a 17 or 17 1/2 collar, but apparently everybody that wears that size collar is rotund with short arms. I NEED at least 36 inch sleeves, but 32-33 is far more common in all shirts...

I've gotten nice shirts that aren't too expensive from places like Brooks Brothers. Ralph Lauren's styling doesn't really thrill me; I prefer more classic styling. And you can get a great look with relatively straight-cut shirts by folding the sides back at the waist. This keeps you from looking all blousy and inflated too.

Shame you don't live in the UK- that exact shirt of which you speak is a dime-a-dozen over here.

Doesn't really help you though. Sorry.

ghporter, ill try that folding technique, thanks for that. I just hate that blousiness. I do wish American shirts were designed more like UK shirts. Brooks Brothers and Banana Republic seem to have good choices. Thanks.

I'd recommend Ted Baker, for a nice white shirt.
