Currently it is the 360 for me. Previously the PS2, for old school the SNES.

SNES, hands-down
Second would probably be Xbox (due to awesome Live game play) but it loses tons of points for breaking on me only 5 years into it's life. Luckily my roommate also had one that didn't have such a hard life as mine.
Seriously though, 360s overheated like mad when they first came out, and I know of 5 or 6 original Xbox units that just flat-out failed. Am I the only one who likes something that costs 200+ to actually fu*kin last as long as I care to use it for?
My SNES is 12 years old, both controllers work PERFECTLY, and my Legend of Zelda cartridge still holds my original save game.

5 years isn't really that bad though. Better than busting after 2.

Well favorite in the sense that it plays all my favorite games from gamecube, plus the potential to play the nes, snes, and n64 games from my past.
When factoring in cost and the amount of free time I have to play games, the concept of the Wii fits my life perfectly. I'll certainly admit that games like GOW, Assasins Creed, Crysis, etc look awesome, but I just don't have an hour or two at a time to sit and play games.
Edit:
And to answer your questions more directly, I currently own an atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Playstation, Gamecube, dreamcast, DS, and a Wii, and besides Wii, own at least 20 games for each.
I might pick up a ps2 now that they are pretty cheap to play some of the better ps2 games(ico, shadow of the colossus, okami, etc). I certainly would say that I'm a fan of Nintendo, but I recognize when other systems have something to offer.

In my opinion, you have to have tried at least two consoles from each generation from the SNES/Genesis on in order to have an informed opinion in this poll. To skip out on the PS2 (and XBox, for that matter) completely was a travesty.
And for everyone who missed my comments in the other thread, I voted PS2.

Over the past 20 years, I've owned NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy, Sega CD, 32X, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Xbox, GameCube, Playstation 2 and Wii. I voted SNES. That system had a great controller, nice 2D graphics, and a lot of great games. That's the system I had the most fun with.

Going on what I remember to be the "most fun", I'd have to go with the SNES or the Sega Genesis, leaning slightly more towards the SNES just because I was more familiar with that system at the time, but I'm sure even that is tainted with some nostalgic bias.
The Dreamcast was my first "modern" console and I loved it, though I envy the PS2 for its huge game library. We shall see about the Wii and the PS3 in due time.

SNES is #2 on my list. Too many great games under stiff competition from SEGA, back when gaming was still considered a geeky thing to do. I went to a small school that only had two designated "guy" tables in the lunchroom. One was the "cool table." The other was the "Nintendo table." Guess which one I sat at?

I agree, PS2 was (is) amazing. I never owned one, but have logged hundreds of hours on it. It missing the online game play is the only thing that makes me say Xbox over PS2.
Sega Genesis was fun, but SNES spanked it in graphics. Just play MK2 on both and you would have trouble keeping a strait face saying that Genesis had the same power. Plus, compare Sonic and Super Metroid.....go ahead, I dare ya.
I have a Dreamcast, but it sh!t the bed. It's my own fault since only burned games were played in it. Great graphics, good games, bad controller.
N64 was the shiznat, I spilled a glass of wine in mine once, still works great. Although, boy do those controllers wear out like a mofo. I have about 8 N64 controllers, and only one of them is still decent.
I'd say as far as me having the most fun on a system it would go: SNES, N64/Xbox, PS2, Dreamcast.

I'm just saying here, but the PS2 does have online play, just not as good as Live.

Yeah, I'm aware, but the sheer ease of use that Xbox Live has makes PS2's route seem non-existent.
I am excited to see if PS3 can take a bite out of Live, but as far as I'm concerned Live will be the ruling king of online gameplay for at least another year.

Well, SNES used 15-bit color (with 256 onscreen at a time) while Genesis only used 9-bit color (with 64 onscreen at a time). It's pretty much indisputable that the SNES could draw prettier graphics.

Well, here it's indisputable among such fine and admirable nerds, but many people have argued with me that both systems were exactly the same, which doesn't hold a bit of truth. At least now I know exactly why.
Thanks Chuck.

Yet the Genesis had the faster CPU (Motorola 68K at a blazing 7MHz. WOW!) vs. the 3MHz CPU in the SNES. With its 'blast processing'. Remember that marking BS? LOL Anyhow I have to go with SNES as the best platform as well. Genesis a close second though.
I miss Sega being in the game. I might fire up my Dreamcast and Saturn for a 'tribute' to the fallen.

A good system that never made it was the Atari Jaguar.
I used to play Alien vs. Predator late at night with the sound up and it would scare the crap out of me.

3DO was a fun one as well. Return Fire was classic. They did the Sony and charged $799 when it first came out. Once it got down to $299 I gave it a shot. Pretty fun system. Samurai Showdown and Return Fire were two of the classics I liked on that one.
