I just rewatched this last night while introducing a friend and I'm riding the high off seeing it today. We were only able to briefly discuss the movie before my buddy called it a night, but I've already spent the morning looking up various aspects of the movie and story.
Any other [Leone] fans out there?

*high five*
But seriously, any thoughts on the film? My friend and I had a disagreement over how we felt about Mr. Morton. I was sympathetic to the character.

Sorry but it was way too long ago that I watched this movie - I don't even remember who Mr. Morton was!
I think I'll have to watch it again!

Yeah, last night was only the second time I watched it in its entirety and I picked up on a few new things.
Def worth a rewatch (Though it runs a little long, so brace yourself).

Yeah, I know, it's epic!
I'll have to check my local video store soon.

I surprised how inamoured parts of Europe was with the American frontier of the 19th century.
It was really nothing like the movies.(to some degree though)
Yet European directors and screen writers romantisized the gunfighter.
But yet their depictions of how they really dressed and their weapons were much more accurate than American directors.
A cattleman couldn't afford a Colt New Army revolver. Or a Winchester rifle.
Or new clothes. They were gritty and dirty like in the "spaghetti westerns"
I participate in Coyboy Action Shooting events.
I dress as a drifter. Who would trade and pick up whatever he could to survive.
So my costume is kinda mishmash of European and Native American wares.
And I use a Richards-Mason conversion revolver.
I can't stand the "Roy Rogers" that show up to compete.

All men are created equal, but what they do after that point puts them on a sliding scale.
