MySpace blames Apple and QuickTime for hacked accounts - The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)

Apparently, there was a Quicktime video that was altering peoples profiles. Myspazz wants Apple to fix it, even though it isn't their fault.

It is also worth noting that while this movie could infect users who simply viewed a compromised page, the attack (as far as we know) only works on IE and Firefox in Windows

That Zwinky ad (twice on the same tuaw page) slows my computer to a crawl.

Anyways, it's interesting to note that it's not a flaw in QuickTime according to the article. It's a security hole in MySpace.

"The movie, CNET reports, actually capitalized on a MySpace flaw and QuickTime's legitimate support for JavaScript to craft what has been dubbed the Quickspace attack."

Yep. However, instead of fixing their hole, they contact Apple to fix Quicktime.

They learned from M$. It's always someone else's fault.
