Windows development chief: 'I would buy a Mac if I didn't work for Microsoft'

I don't know what this has to do with the court case, but it definitely ain't good PR for MS nonetheless.

I'd love to hear the reply to that.

Allchin, who has headed various aspects of Windows development since the mid-1990s but plans to retire at the end of this year with the shipping of Windows Vista, later wrote in the same e-mail that he would buy a Mac if he was not a Microsoft employee, according to transcripts from proceedings Thursday and Friday in the class-action case obtained and posted by Groklaw.net, an open-source legal Web site.
So does this mean he's getting a Mac after next spring?

I think Jobs should give him a Mac Book Pro when it comes out with Leopard installed.

I like the part later on where he's stringently insisting that employees delete all e-mail after 30 days.

I wonder if Allchin will be hired onto Apple's board of directors?

I think he might, but not for at least 5 years. I remember there geing a clause for Microsoft execs (became famous when that one guy left MS to work for Google) that says they can't work for a competing company until after 5 years... or something like that.
