Edit: Never mind it is true. I didn't have the lastest build. It doesn't work though.

The picture has been up too long without apple requesting or rather telling them to remove it.

Also the gui is still the old aqua gui.

Both these points make me believe it not real.

But I was wrong once back in '70.

There have been add-on ichat plug-ins for a while now.
Ecamm.com has one that does recording of the call/video call.

There were a few third party answering machine ones that the developers withdrew rather than develop/release further. This looks like one of them to my eye.

thanks for the link. I had heard of some of those apps but not all of them.
I can only tolerate ichat with chax (Chax - miscellaneous iChat improvements) installed.

The tabbed view they showed at WWDC should help some. It's not everything Chax does, but it goes a long way for me.
