Apple is linking to a Juniper issued Visa iTunes Reward Card.

This is NOT good enough. Please, Steve Jobs will you issue an Apple branded Visa Reward Card that looks Apple-esque and earns credit toward ALL Apple Store products. Enhance the appearance of our plastic in a way we know only Apple can do. Why share logos with a nondescript bank. Stop pussy footing around. PLEASE!

why not write Apple yourself?

Don't you think they have a handle on this? Just because you can't control your credit purchases and want to spend yourself into bankruptcy just to earn points for apple kit doesn't mean you can dictate apple corporate policy

That's not even remotely close to what he's talking about.

Thank you starman.
To Blasphemy: I have written to Apple and as is its policy not to acknowledge or comment on any unsolicited ideas. I in no way implied credit is to be used irresponsibly. If a creditor is willing to make an interest free loan for a month isn't it silly not to take advantage of the offer? Many recurring monthly expenses can be paid with credit cards that could accumulate credits quickly.

Personally, I am shocked — SHOCKED, I tell you — at this slap in the face from Apple.

Chuckit: No need to take it personally. I do think Apple is underestimating an additional profit source. Why not add a little more to the $10+ billion kitty? Aren't we Mac aficionados alleged to be more affluent than our pc brethren? If so, we'd make better credit customers. Right?

Not if you believe the "I'm a Mac" ads.

I am totally shocked and disgusted. I have in mind to start an online petition because we know how well they work and surely an online petition will move apple to do the honorable and right thing to give us apple stuff cheap if we sign up for a card with their logo on it.

While I setup the partition, my recommendation is to dump all apple products since they decided to ignore the masses and not have an apple branded rewards credit card.

Actually I have a better idea for you.

Sign up for this: Citi Dividend Card - Cash Back Credit Card from Citi

You get cash back and then use the cash back "rewards" to buy your Apple crap.

These "rewards" cards are a joke and a scam for most middle-class consumers considering the thousands of dollars you have to charge on them just to earn anything. At the rediculous interest ratest (even for those of us with excellent credit) carrying a balance for just one month could easily eat up your entire "reward" and then some.

To me it only makes sense if you expense a lot of things for work and are promptly reimbursed by your employer (fast enough to pay the balance before the end of the grace period).

Suggestion... next time you buy a Mac pay cash and throw in a $25 iTunes gift card at the register when you check out. It'll be the same thing and you get the instant gratification.
