I'm suggesting to do away with the brick and a goofy single cable. Separate the power cable from the input cables like everyone else. The current brick situation makes you locate your power brick within 2 feet (or however long their dvi cable is) of your comp. This forces you to place your power brick next to or on top of your comp. Not very aesthetically pleasing and very odd for me because I have all of my power bricks in a separate location. Certainly I am not the only one who has a surge protector not directly next to their comp and monitors.

Many ACD owners are also not using Apple's LCDs for high end graphics work. It is my understanding that the really high end graphics pros skip Apple and go for the really expensive Eizo displays or other the high gamut displays with LED backlights (NEC has one). It currently feels very asymmetric to offer glossy or matte options on the MacBook and MacBook Pro displays but not for the desktop displays.
My recent opening to glossy displays is that I've found I notice more detail in them than on matte displays. Glare is also not as bad as I thought it would be. In my experience it can kind of suck if you are trying to show something off to someone in a well-lit area but is fine for personal use.

I recently saw a patent Apple made for a swiveling iSight (It was on top of a laptop)

The Mac mini is not the consumer Apple desktop, the iMac is.

That could be good. A friend has a Dell laptop with a built in cam he can swivel towards the user or away from the user (so he can record himself webcam style or record lectures). It's far better than a fixed position camera pointing at the user (limits it to webcam use for the most part).

Why is there no mention of rotation? The technology has existed for more than a decade, and isn't difficult to implement.
I know the idea behind having screens this size is that you don't need rotation, I still think it would be a good trick.

I personally think it's a useless feature in the Cinema Displays.
They simply need to drop the prices.

Can anyone spell "alone" it is NOT " a loan" (Sorry but, jeeeez, you're killing me)

Yea the current prices are ridiculous. You can buy a Samsung (with a slimmer border) with a DVI connection (20" widescreen) for $280 shipped!

I don't think Bluetooth would be a good idea for video and lets not even talk batteries.

but then you'd lose the capability of using it as a video camera. It would be used on top of a display (or the stand) while recharging (or already charged) and then can be used as a video camera for up to 30 ft away (this would be great if your using a MB(P))
Edit: I need to revise my idea

You've already lost that if it's Bluetooth. Bluetooth has a maximum capacity of 384 KB/s. Do you really believe you're going to get 24 frames of video into 384 KB?

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned adding Component Video to the new displays. You can get a refurb dell 20" for 289.00 (granted it's still a Dell), but it does have VGA, DVI, and Component.
When the iTV comes out next year, I wonder if Apple will consider moving up to larger scale LCDs than they have now. . .

Yeah. But that samsung isn't a S-IPS panel. It's a TN panel. Which sucks.
But I agree, al they need is lower prices.

dude, with the freakin' drawings already man.
why are you writing this stuff out??
I know you're 11 and yada yada, but dude. If the drawings had straight lines and legible print and no frilly lace on the side of the notebook paper, then maybe I'd be okay with the photos.
I could draw a straight line and write legibly around your age, and if I couldn't, I don't think I'd be sharing with this crowd.
Other than that, just fantastic. 5fps 320x240 over bluetooth and batteries that go like tootsie rolls at a birthday party for one of your buddies. GREAT!

Id just like to see them dropped in price.. I mean id love to have the 30 inch display but at there prices its just a little high.. When i got my mini I got a 17" HP LCD for 139 dollars which does justice for it. Eventually Ill get an apple display but when they come down in price
