I still don't understand why people get tattoos.

I've yet to see one where I've said "wow, I want that on my body... forever"

Well others see something that they do want on their bodies. I don't have a tattoo but that doesn't preclude the idea of getting one. I think they're pretty cool but I've seen too many tattoos on 50 and 60 old guys that are all mishapen and blurry. That's what is holding me back.

Yeah, and as these guys have gotten older their skin has sagged, their nuts have sagged, the hair on their heads has fallen out only to be replaced with hair growing out of places that their used to be none. Tattoos age just like our bodies do, it's no big deal. I've personally never talked to anyone with one of those old faded tattoos that actually regrets getting one because of that.

It's funny how you young people can look at your old, fat, bald uncle and then look at yourselves and not make the connection. You WILL get old and droopy, just like the rest of us. An old tattoo will be the least of your concerns.

The notion that getting ink poked into your skin in some sort of design is "cool" makes me laugh. Coolness is such a short term thing anyway. A "Cool Tatoo" this week becomes old hat, and you can increase the level of "STUPID" by making it someones name like a girlfriend/boyfriend that you may ditch, but still have their name on your butt forever.

My favourite is still the cute blonde working in a store near my place, who has an Atari logo tattoo. I asked her why, and she said she loved the Atari console as a kid.

Still, I don't understand why people get company brand tattoos.

So I guess the OP's photo is actually from an article about removable tattoos (semi-permanent ink). I just ran across it on Engadget.

Getting a tattoo of a fad item is one thing, but getting a tattoo of an enduring image is very different. Tattoos of national, military, or religious themes don't suddenly become "old hat."

I'm attacking you for being an idiot. You're "attacking" millions of people for making a decision about something that does not affect you at all. There's a subtle difference there.

And you're correct. I demand that you listen to me, and also that you iron my dress shirts. No starch. Or creases.

Many women I know have either a flower on their ankle and/or a maple leaf on their shoulder or above the butt.

I can state MY OPINION if I WANT!!! You seem to be the IDIOT here. Just because "Millions of People" make stupid rash decisions that they will regret later, and the REALLY STUPID don't get it, doesn't make it a correct decision. It's like picking a really ugly shirt to wear...forever. Giving advice to someone less astute doesn't require that I am somehow affected by it.
