Over at the (in)famous multi-console thread, the question was what next-gen console one had or planned on buying. That thread was created in May. I think things have changed since then, and the inability to change one's vote (I chose none, but ended up getting a Wii later on) as well as distinguish "want to buy" from "have" make that a different poll.

Instead, I simply ask: Which console do you have?-- which includes all current and next-gen consoles out there, and is multiple choice.

I'm just curious as to actual MacNN console stats. I don't mean this as a thread to discuss which system is best (we already have the other thread for that), but merely how many of us have consoles, and which ones we have. You can also tell us if you have more than one of a kind.

Thanks.

Edit: If any mod wants to correct my typo in the poll (I typed "fo" instead of "do"), that would be appreciated.

I plan on playing with my friend's Wiis. haha, I said it.

Seriously though two guys in dorm are getting Wiis and they've already both bought Zelda... I'm planning on trying to get through the game one of these weeks... if they'll ever let me on it.

Gamecube and Dreamcast for me from that list. No Wii yet, but my younger brothers got one this year for X-Mas and if I enjoy it when I visit them I might get one of those. Not interested in spending $400+ for just the console with the other two companies.

i played wii last night first time and i have to say the controller is amazing and fun as hell.. the graphics are disappointing (i'm used to playing Xbox360 on a HDTV), but as a party console it's killer. there's no way it could be my only console. i need my next-gen!!

I have a PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox from the last generation, but the Wii is the only one for me now. I also have a DS, which is excellent.

Wii60 over here. I hadn't planned on getting the 360, but I was able to snag one very cheap (thanks Amazon!) so I figured I'd try it out.

I'm a bit torn at the moment. I really want a Wii right now. My nephew has one and one of my best friends. And it's great fun. But, I somewhat doubt that I will keep playing with it.

What interests me the most is that Virtual console stuff.

GameCube and 360.

FIVE years since the GC and the Wii is all they can give us? No thanks. Maybe when it is $150 or less.

PS2 FTW. I have HD Advance on it with a 200GB HD so it'll probably be my main console for the next couple years. I really want a PS3 but I feel like I'll never have any time to play it though. The Wii is just too last gen for me and I'm not really a 360 guy, my cousin has a 360 and I can play it anytime I want anyway.

Ya, the results here are totally off so far. MacNN is always a bit weird with gamers.

I'm not surprised we have a lot of cutting edge technology... but I assume these are the same people who own old systems, hence the installed base should be showing up more.

Well, I only have a PSP. I love it, it's so fun. Game systems are so expensive, though so I don't think I could justify the cost of a next gen ( or fixing my broken GC), let alone coming up with the money. I'd love a 360 or Wii though.

I love my PS2. All the GTA games, all the Metal Gear games, and all the gran turismo games. Plus, Katamari Damacy, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and one of my new favorite games: BLACK. IT's ****ing incredible!

It is weird, but given the parallels between Apple & Nintendo, not completely surprising.

I have my old N64, but I don't have time for or a desire for a new system. I haven't even tried any of the new systems so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.

The forum liberals want you to think all of Salty's posts indicate that he's gay, but the real data show that it's only around 1 to 2 percent.

Oh, and on topic: I own a GameCube, PS2, Xbox (non-360) and Wii.

And just to get back on topic ...

I think I stopped playing console games when the trend was to make as many first person shooters as possible. I don't really care about the graphics as much as I care about the replayability.

IF the Wii maintains its momentum and lives up to its potential, I'll purchase one again when the price drops. For right now, I'm happy playing my 360.

Half-Life 2 is a FPS and I've played through it at least 10 times, and played individual levels (like Ravenholm) countless times.

FPS don't float yer boat, thats cool, but many people have their boats...uhh...floaten by them....

If all goes as planned I'll be living in a house with a guy that has one next year. That should be pretty cool. My roommates and I talked about going in together on a 360, but problems would arise if we someday decided not to live with each other.

In retrospect, I would have liked to keep my PS2, bought a 360, and waited patiently to see the Wii's future. Before I sold the Wii on eBay, I was having a blast with Zelda:TP, but nervousness about the console's future is all that pushed me over the line and back into the 360 camp. I blew a lot of money unnecessarily over the past few years.
