...or "freerunning"

Just heard about it to-day. Anyone here ever try it. I guess it's big over in Europa. I'm too old and rickety to take it on now. What about you young whippersnappers?

What I heard it was...

- an arduous form of urban gaming that involves leaping from building to building.

I was a bit skeptical so I looked it up on Wikipedia expecting to find nada. I guess it's been around awhile. This is what I found.

PS. Saw a good sample of this in the movie U.S. Marshalls. the sequel to The Fugitive.

There's a cool segment in Top Gear where a guy in a car races a couple of these guys across the city...pretty extreme stuff.
Starting around 6 minutes

Theres a pretty extensive parkour scene in the new 007 movie (which kicks ass, btw).

I like it. It doesn't require a bunch of equipment. It uses the stuff mankind is building over trees in an unintended way which is cool.

Check some of these videos out on youtube: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

The protagonist in the Luc Besson movie, District 13 does quite a bit of parkour.

I've seen quite a few of those videos and some of the stuff they do is just incredible. I wonder how you would practice without getting severely injured/killed.

A number of them will do back flips off of 2 story buildings and roll on the landing. Others will jump from rooftop to rooftop where the drop is 4 stories or more.

My knees scream in pain when I watch those videos.

Methinks these kids are gonna have lots of joint pain when they get older.
