WOW. I've only played the first two levels, and this is the most captivating FPS I've ever seen. It's like a Bruckheimer movie on crack. Everything explodes, shatters, splinters, it's just nuts. The 2nd level took me a few times, but mainly because the first time it glitched in a really weird way. But the graphics for the PS2 are superb, and the sound is just amazing... of course... i have the PS2 hooked up via optical audio, so that could be part of it. Either way... the gunshots and sound effects are just ear candy. Seriously, if you have a PS2 and FPSs don't annoy the crap out of you, it'd be a shame to not check this game out. It's freakin' awesome!

My only gripe is that the radio communcations are WAY too loud in comparison to everything else, and it's impossible to turn them down. Dorks. They probably did that so people with crappy TV speakers could hear well, but when I play games, I want gunfire to sound like gunfire... so the radio = REALLY loud. It sucks.

Peace,

- Rob

I think I saw this at Wal-Mart for $10 the other day. Maybe I'll nab it before I head home.

Lack of multiplayer kills it IMO. I might as well play Pacman.

Harsh opinion. What use is multiplayer if you have nobody to play it with ( I'm lonely today jeeze )

Multiplayer games without a mouse and keyboard suck ass anyway. Trust me, this is WORTH playing single player. It's fantastically fun, and done VERY VERY VERY well. This is the cream of the crop, as far as FPS goes. It's freaking amazing.

Turns out it's $20 at Wal-Mart and Hastings didn't have any used copies. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

It's really sweet. I just spent an hour on level 3... it's fun to go balls to the wall sometime and just use the AK or uzi and run at everybody shooting, but sometimes they overpower you....but man... when you're just running in guns blazing because you have no place to hide, it's intense.

I know some people who can't stand playing shooters with a mouse and keyboard… so its quite silly to make such a statement that they are the only way to play.

Also, shooters are not the only online game. I can think of about 20+ non-shooter XBox 360 games that are just fine without a keyboard and mouse.

I haven't played it yet, but it sounds as though it's worth checking out. The sequel is apparently headed for the Wii, by the way.

I don't see how that controller would be real great at FPS games... maybe I'm wrong though.

I used it for a while with Red Steel and I really didn't like it. I suppose it would take some getting used to though, I really don't know.

K, I just beat the 2nd to last level. Again, so far it's a stellar FPS. Very fun, very intense. I like it!

Is this is the same game that was out on the xbox almost a year ago? Did it just come out for the PS2, or did you just buy it?

Probably just bought it, as it's currently a $20 greatest hit.

I just bought it. It came out for the PS2 a while ago, but I don't buy games very often, and this one won best Ps2 graphics, sound, and best FPS of 2006, so I bought it.

I just said 'non-shooter' and FPS stands for First Person 'Shooter'

Okay, screw this game. The last level is RETARDED long, and the last firefight is just freaking impossible. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to replay the whole freaking thing just to try the firefight again, but this is just dumb. It's for sale. Good game, retarded last level.

I traded in a couple games and picked this up for $7 last night. Played through the first few levels, I have to say it's pretty fun so far. I think this is actually the first FPS I've played on a console (since Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on N64).

I think I might be on this so-called retarded boss fight. I'm in a room with tons of guys wielding magnums, shotguns, shields, heavy machine guns, and at least one RPG. I finally gave up after several tries. We'll try again tomorrow.

What level is it? If it's level 8, it might be it.... thing is, there are basically THREE fights like that, and the third one is the insane one. You walk down a long tunnel before you enter the room.

Yep, that was it. I just beat it on my third try (normal difficulty), it was a really fun game. I just staked out the bunker areas and as soon as he came out with the rpg I blasted into the bunkers as much as possible. The final screen claimed I took exactly 1:00:00 to beat the final level...wow.

Another look at my profile tells me I beat it in 5 hours and 33 minutes, but I'm only 26% done? Is that because I didn't find all of the items, or because I haven't beat it on every skill level (just normal)? I'm glad I didn't pay much for it though, less than 6 hours? I spent about 36 on Devil May Cry.

I tried quite a few times on that last level, and I just don't get it. The dudes just don't die, and it takes about an hour for me to get to that fight in the first place, and you can't save it THERE, you have to play through that whole god dman level again to get back there...ugh... anyway, the rest of the game is great. So intense! hehhehee.

Oh, I totally know what you mean. Every other level auto saves along the way, but not that one. And the guys just keep coming and coming. The first couple times I tried it they just kept pouring in from everywhere until I was all out of health packs. But that last time seems to go really quick, I don't know if I just did something in the right order or what.
