All holiday season ive heard of how well the new game councils are selling and I was just trying to get a perspective of how many of them were actually bought.

The Game Council hereby forbids you to discuss this topic again.

Also, this forum appears to have a bit of a Nintendo bias, so it's not exactly a representative sample.

That or they're just attracted to the console with the least market share.

It may come at the cost of a few Tvs, but what's physical health worth, really?

Hahaha! I guess the whole world is biased towards Nintendo (according to the numbers, the Wii killed the PS3, and well, the 360 is old news). Just because people like the Wii better than the others does not mean they're biased, it just means that they like it better.

Did the GameCube outsell the Playstation 2 in your world?

I'm not trying to get into silly platform wars. I'm just stating the facts as they appear to me. Judging by the results of that thread, Nintendo seems to be more popular with MacNN Lounge readers than it is with the population in general, because the Playstation 2 actually sold several times more than the GameCube last time I checked.

3DO was kind of the PS3 of its day — overpriced and it didn't have any games anybody really wanted to play.

I bought a 3D0. I worked all winter, spring, and summer to save up for it. Then I bought it. $400. And sorry, it had some really freaking sweet games, most noticeably, Return Fire, and the original (and still the best) NEED FOR SPEED.

Nope, it has nothing in common with the PS3 at all.

It costs WAY more in adjusted dollars, didn't play 10 years worth of previous gen games, didn't have the biggest name in Gaming behind it, no amazing movie player, didn't sell out everywhere, didn't have people lining up for them overnight, nothing.

It was technically superior and overpriced. Featue set/design/compatibilty/brand are different issues as they are different pieces of hardware released years apart. But their relative position to the competition in the market is very similar.
