Hey guys I got a 35 gb video file that I need and is on another computer. (it is a camp and for some reason the guys power mac would not mount our HD after it had been working all day.) Anyways we need the video file (working file) for archiving and things such as that. I was wondering if you knew anywhere that would offer a solution for that.

Also I will pay for this if need be, I just need to figure out how we can get the file.

Thanks

35 GB, ouch. You're out of luck with free drop file sites or .Mac. How about using an iPod?

If it won't boot the OS, maybe it will do firewire target disk mode.

It would definitely be better to get this file via some other means other than http. I'm not sure how web browser download managers would fare with a file of that size.

I'd look into segmenting this file into smaller pieces, and downloading it with AFP, rsync, scp, SFTP, or something equivalent. FTP might actually be good for this, providing you could create a dummy password for this one time transfer.

If it were me, I'd probably segment the file and download the entire directory via rsync... Seems like the easiest way to do this given the possibility of having to restart the download.
