Post your pad. Why? Boredom. I need to import pics, so maybe someone else can go first.

RULES

I don't care about exterior shots much. It doesn't tell any of us where you spend time, what you're like, etc.

Please don't post pictures unless they're interior shots. If you do post one, at least include a few interior shots. Details are nice, showing stuff your'e into, etc.

K. Here goes. I'm currently in a chill apartment building built in 1927, and redone just before we moved in. We got to pick out the paint colors, countertops, fans, all that jazz. It was pretty sweet.

Here's my current home theater setup... note my sweet center channel now... I wall mounted it a few days ago. The TV is going to go on craigslist in a week or two, and then I'm getting a 24" iMac instead. Should be nice. Behind the entertainment center, speakers, bookcase, and media storage fruit boxes, I have a braided section of red, green and blue ropelight. I wired it all into a birch plywood box with 3 dimmers on it, so I can control the 'mood lighting' behind everything, to any color that I want.... purple, green, red, orange, whatever. It's kinda neat.

Mah desk. Right now all the quadraphonic hardware is just sitting there, not hooked up to anything. It's waiting for the entertainment center I'm going to start building next week.

In between the first two. I have that little mission style table filled with crap at the moment. Most of it is raw materials, or tools from school, as I had to take EVERYTHING home over break. Lame.

Kristin's dwelling. And currently, the only computer that really gets used. I sold off my powermac setup on ebay to help fund the 24" iMac. I got about $1500 for everything, so that was a good move. We had a lot more wine and stuff, but it was just new years... so... yeah.

Dining room. Not sure what to do with those mirrors right now. >shrug< I restored that table with Kristin a few years ago, it turned out pretty nice.

Wow, that is actually a nice setup Rob. Looks cozy. I especially like the living room.

I would post pictures of my apartment, but I would be embarrassed. I don't have anything in there. Not even a tv....haha

Here's a picture of mine in 2005 just after I moved to Colorado Springs. My camera is broken, so I can't take a new one

Nice. And heck yes, the kitchen is def the most important room. With a crap kitchen, you don't cook as often, and then you order food or go out a lot, which means you end up spending a ton of cash. Having a nice kitchen is the best way to save money ever. What kind of faucet is that? Looks strange, but in a good way. Why is that block of wood like 5" tall?

PS: Post more interior shots people. Exterior shots all look the same. Interior shots shows us who you are, and where you really live.

That's Maple Hall, built in 1967. Fortunately it was redone in the last few years and a couple friends and I nabbed one of the two suites per floor for the last two years, meaning we get a bedroom, bathroom, and living room to ourselves.

It's a 850 Turbo. It's a '94.5 and was originally a manual when we got it, but it was shot by 100,000, which is very un-Volvo-like. We couldn't find a manual for that year so we had to put an auto in along with a new ECU ( which we got at a junkyard). It shifts very quickly though for an auto, and I think it's a better match for the turbo lag. It's got 185,000 miles on it.

Couple more:

That's the closet, which also houses the furnace... and it's home of the...

ORIGINAL FRANKENIMAC! It's hosting the pictures you're looking at, actually. I can't ever part with it. It also hosts my music collection wirelessly, and serves backup duties. I was running seti on it for a while, but I gave up, as the new seti requries a 3d card, which is stupid.

What a mess. I'm going to build a shelf next week that goes across the whole closet, so I can put the printer in there too, then I never have to look at it. I hate seeing printers, they're always ugly and 'techie' looking.

The torque converter in an auto helps the turbo stay loaded, which actually made the auto Solstice GXP faster than the 5spd version.

Before, a tiny single story house, the after a nice two story 4 bedroom house and let me tell you, the addition was a blessing in disguise. We were in the middle of construction when we found out my wife was pregnant with twins. we definitely need the room.

Careful with those ropelights. Those things can get damn hot. I melted part of a pillow covered with acrylic faux fur that was touching one of those. Just an FYI

Wow, that's a huge improvement project. Did you do any of the work yourself? How long did that take and how much of an inconvenience was that for you while it was going on?

Heck no, that was way too big for me. The renovation started in April and it was finished up in September of 05. My twin girls were born in January 06 so it was just under the wire.

It was a huge inconvenience because we tried living in the house while the renovation took place. I'll never do that again nor would I recommend that either. We had no choice, since budgets were tight and could not afford paying rent while paying for the construction.

The only piece of advice I give is get an architect. The GC we hired drew up the plans but unlike an architect did not delineate every little detail and that's when some problems arose between myself and the builder. nothing earth shattering and we're generally pleased with thier work but it would have gone smoother if we spent the money on an architect.

The house went from a two bedroom house to a 4 bedroom house. The wife and I still think what a blessing it is to have such a great house and large enough to hold two baby girls.

One of these days I'll get around to building myself a house. Seems kinda dumb to tie up that much money when it can be used to make even more money. I don't know if I ever showed you guys the 'finished' version of the house from hell remodeling project. So here ya go. There's nothing left of the original house except for the structural components in the roof, exterior walls, and floors. I spent about $19,500. Bargain of the century. This was my first and last home renovation.

Well at least the renovations weren't going on after the babies were born.

But apparently the kids don't need sunlight? Why no windows on the 2nd floor? Or barely any? Seems weird.

I'll go ahead and join the fun with a few pix of my living room.

A grand shot of the whole zone. I know, I need to throw some stuff on the walls pretty bad.

This is my SciFi DVD collection, which is comprised of Babylon 5, DS9 and Stargate SG-1. All in their entirity.

I bought this hutch thingy mainly because I wanted to have one on each side of the TV stand, not because I had enough stuff to fill it with. So I've resorted to starting a beer bottle collection.

And this is my favorite piece of the living room set because I can get the most creative with it. On top, I have a marble floor tile that holds my incense sticks and tea lights. And in each little cranny I've put various little things.

And underneath it all is a $600 persian rug that I managed to screw Lowe's out of for $40 when I used to work there. One of the better deals I have ever gotten.

Moved in about 2 months ago.... so I'm using that as an excuse for the bare walls and general lack of stuff. Although there really isn't much else to put up... that's what happens when you are fairly anal to begin with.. and you double the size of your living space - although you can see the little one is taking over....

Kitchen (yes, the countertops will get upgraded soon..)

Very nice, macroy.

If you think the few toys that you have in the living room constitutes the little one "taking over", then you must really be a neat freak. I was just going to compliment you on how you can keep the living room so clean with just a few toys. You'd hate to see our living room when the kids have their toys thrown about.

My place, photos taken before a party earlier in the year - the satin sheets hanging on all the walls aren't normally there. Especially not the ones covering the windows.

Love the kitties on the counter. I think I see three cats.

Yep, 3 cats in the picture (had 4 at that time) - one of them ended up being killed by a pack of dogs this summer, so we were down to 3 cats... But now we've gotten a couple of wee kitties (see the link in my signature).

haha - yea, I'm not looking forward to it. As it is now, I'm already pulling my hair out when he goes crazy with his stuff. But we only have one, and he's only 18 months - so not much has been accumulated.... Not to mention that being married to a school teacher, 80% of his belonings are books.
