I was kinda curious about this movie, so i rented it out the other day. I really liked it, and i must say it's probably my favorite Dreamworks CG movie. The characters were well thought out and the "style" (with the exception of the horendous humans) was very cool.
I really like the way Dreamworks is experimenting with different styles (Shark Tale, Madagascar, Over The Hedge). That imo is really exploiting this medium.
So anyway, it's a nice movie....very light..... the soundrack was put together by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator) and ben Folds and it really sounds very cool..... check it out if your looking for something new.
The songs by Ben Folds, seems to sound a lot like Badly Drawn Boy for some reason.... it might just be me tho.
Enjoy

I liked the movie but for some reason the soundtrack didn't jive with me. I just didn't feel like it fit the movie.

Was it about an experience with a high school girlfriend having an abortion?

You know, I think that might have been it.
Good thing you're back. Yesterday was boring.

I'm glad that didn't go over your head.
Yes, I'm back at work today. My loss is your gain.

I always find it hilarious how "growing up" almost invariably turns musicians into shitty musicians.
Whatever and Ever Amen was the last decent album Ben Folds ever did, I think. Unauthorized Biography was still pretty good, but even then you could see the move to slick production and adult-contemp tripe that really got tiring on Rockin the Suburbs and his later stuff (although that chord progression on Jane still gets me going).
To sum up: I've never seen Over the Hedge. Everyone tells me it's merely okay. Maybe after I watch The Rocket and The Descent, which I just rented and one of which I'm too much of a pussy to see by myself.

I thought the music for the movie was excellent, and I recognized it as Ben Folds right off. Full of his style and sound, but much more mature than the whiney stuff from the old days. Nice.
Can't say I'm impressed with Dreamworks animation in general, but this was a good movie.
