I am looking for two small end tables and realtively small rectangular coffee table, I need it to be black. I am trying to find something modern with sleek clean lines, prefer to pay $250 or less for all 3 tables.

Ikea has cheap stuff and a lot of it can be described as "sleek." A lot of it can be described as crap, too.

i hate ikea for two reasons...one they don't have a store in Nashville and two they charge more to ship an item than the item itself

To be fair, it's expensive to ship heavy objects across the country. It's not like they make a huge profit on the shipping.

well i'm okay with the high shipping if they'd open up more stores. Why are there very few ikeas around? Only in BIG cities. I am in Nashville including suburbs about 1mil. pop. We have tons of high end shops here, why not open an Ikea it do a ton of business

Yeah I don't understand their store policy either. There are two in the Chicago suburbs, which seems a little overboard to me. What about Target?

1 mil people is not a lot. No wonder Ikea doesn't serve your area (yet). They are going for the bigger urban markets first.

I came across a website that sold knock offs of DWR items. Even the logo is a knock off.

Unfortunately I didn't bookmark it.

To be fair, our city has had an Ikea (on and off, perhaps) for quite a while, 10 years maybe, and we hit 1 million people in 2004-ish. But, of course, Canadian standards of a "big city" are a little different than American standards.

Have you checked with local woodworking shops or crafters?

That's true. I was never truly comfortable in my home until I made it more Karl Farbman-like.
