IPhone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Phone is a wireless handheld device announced by Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs during his keynote speech at the Macworld conference on 9 January 2007.[1] The device is a 2.5G quad band GSM and EDGE cell phone which supports push e-mail, mobile telephone, text messaging, Safari web browsing and other wireless information services. In addition, the touchscreen device also includes functionality found in the iPod series of music players and runs a version of the Mac OS X operating system. It will come equipped with Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0, as well as a 2.0-megapixel camera. It will be symetrical both horizontally and vertically, for user 'tilting' to view videos.

The iPhone is designed for multi-tasking, so users can read a web page while downloading email in the background over Wi-Fi or EDGE.

While Cisco Systems has a pre-existing trademark on the term — as used in the Linksys iPhone — Cisco indicated on January 9, 2007 that it and Apple have been in negotiations and expect to reach an agreement that day.[2]............

We really don't know what apple means by OSX on the iphone. So far the interface is different and who knows how deep the core goes.

Either way they seemed to do a good job with what we have seen so far and not just put the finder and OSX dock on a tiny screen.

In fact I hope 10.5 picks up many of its GUI and interaction tricks.

AJ:

Noone had ANY idea what you were talking about then or now. And linking to wikipedia (which is user edited) in no way validates a point you are "trying" to make.

Common sense dictates you'd post some quotes to back it up, but no one even cared enough to call him out on that.
