[x] Intel switch
[x] Two button mouse
[x] Headless iMac (mini)
[x] iPhone
[x] Resurrected PDA
[x] Wide screen video iPod

[_] Mac tablet
[_] OSX for PCs
[_] Apple gaming system

Those are the only unfulfilled Apple rumors worth mentioning, and frankly they are pretty lame (and exist already in the form of mods/hacks).

Have we gotten everything we've been clamoring for?

I think the iPhone is pretty much the tablet also. It will also be a handled gaming system in a year.

I'm just glad the phone got announced. I don't think I could take anymore whining/anticipation about it.

True. According to this story, the iPhone started off as a tablet project, and all those tablet rumors may have been true.

I read that too.

And, Apple has already made a console gaming system that did incredibly poorly.

I'd like to see a real tablet MacBook with that touch technology and swivel display. I know there's the ModBook, but it's not a swivel display. It's just a tablet.

I don't think it's ever been a rumor, but a 10" or so micro-laptop would be kinda nice.
But that's just splitting hairs.

The headless imac is NOT the mini.

The iMac has a decent processor, a REAL hard drive, and a REAL graphics card.

The mini uses a cheap processor, a fairly expensive poor performing hard drive, and has total CRAP for graphics.

If they gave the mini a decent GPU I'd probably get it, then just pull the case apart and use a regular 3.5" hard drive and install the whole thing into my quicksilver case. I can upgrade the CPU, the hard drive, and it runs osx, but alas, NO FREAKING GRAPHICS SLOT.

The difference between the 1.83/2.0/2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo CPU in the iMac and the 1.66/1.83Ghz Core Duo CPU in the Mac mini is really small in terms of price (actually I think both 1.83Ghz chips are the same price) and performance (~10% difference a the same clockrate).

Apple has already had a gaming console.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

We have Nintendo, which is close enough anyway.

I'd see Nintendo and Apple partnering before I'd see an Apple System. Imagine if they let the Wii play iTunes music and movies, as well as building Safari for it.

That said there's always been rumours of Apple buying Adobe, though that won't happen.

Whatever. My point was that I could upgrade that if I wanted to, you can swap in a core 2 duo in the mini if you feel like it, but there is no way to add a good graphics card to one. It just pisses me off that GPUs and apple have always been 'no choice whatsoever' unless you buy a powermac. Argh. I don't NEED a powermac. I'm not a professional, I just want a DECENT cpu with a graphics slot. Right now, the 24" iMac is hte closest thing to that... unfortunately. Right now, the mini uses expensive optical drives, and hard drives, because they're laptop versions. Instead, use regular ones, save money, sell it for the same price in a bigger box, and throw a freaking graphics slot on it! Please please please. Then I could get MY OWN monitor, which would be as nice as apple's except it would also have an S-video connection and a few other things so I could hook up my PS2 to it.

I guess if you really wanted to knock that one out, you could claim Apple Computer has gone out of business, Apple Inc on the other hand....

There have been rumours of an Apple made spreadsheet App. There have been lots of software rumors. Some sort of Photoshop competitor. A redesigned Finder.

But you're right most of the huge Apple rumours have been proven true. Makes me wonder what they have left to work on...

Actually, this rumor has already been addressed. Time stated that there was a Mac tablet in development, it morphed into the iPhone.

Is this really a legendary Apple rumor? It's already been done. And all that making OS X for PC's would consist of it removing security stuff.

There is no rumor of OSX for PCs. It's a pipe dream. Big difference.

Sony will buy Apple.

Well, that was the rumour that always went round in about 1996-1998... now it would probably be 'Apple will buy Sony'!
