Today Steve Jobs and Woodside CA were denied an Appeal to move forward with the demolition of the Jackling House. This abomination needs to go before Steve can build his new dream home.

Because if it's Steve Jobs, then he must be right.

Of course, if we had exactly the same story, but Bill Gates owned the house, then everyone would be all up in arms about the evil Bill Gates wanting to destroy this precious historical home. And if it were anyone else, you wouldn't care at all.

Give it a rest - let the courts in California sort this one out. And if it turns out that the law says the house can't be demolished, then... tough for Steve Jobs! He's the CEO of a company that makes great products, but he's not a saint, and he's not infallible in everything he does, even in areas that have nothing to do with making computers.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

I guess if it's declared a landmark, then so be it.

The Jackling House is in ruins and uninhabitable. A Councilman in Woodside CA stated every interior and exterior wall has holes clear through. The Woodside community has no desire to see such a desirable location deteriorate. In this case Steve Jobs can not be compelled to renovate the property. He's paying $30K+ a year in property taxes. The group "Uphold Our Heritage" has no interest in managing the estate. They find satisfaction frustrating a local personality. "Trust Fund" busy bodies have nothing better to do than stifle development of the property. Where were they when Larry Ellison was allowed to disassemble a structure and build his Japanese Villa? Jobs will construct a home that will be valued in 60 years significantly greater than the current abomination.
