Saxophonist Michael Brecker recently passed away due to complications with cancer at the young age of 57.
He was the hero of many many musicians and was without question an absolutely smoking, innovative, often admired and imitated player.
Brecker used to play in the Saturday Night Live before Lenny Pickett, and has collaborated with Steely Dan, Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell, and a host of other well-known musicians. He won 11 Grammy awards. You can read more about him here:
